Well after round 18 of the summer roll up, there has been a shift at the top of the order of merit, by virtue of the man in second position coming second yesterday. More of that below.

Last night we switched around to the front nine last night as the green staff were getting work in ahead of the forecasted rain here today, and were working on the back nine. So we played on sanded greens, and whilst a little bit bumpy, putts were still going in. Not mine though but that’s another story....

Round 18 winner was Mr Andy Green with an excellent 20 points, winning £46.20.

Second equal were Steve Suckling and Dominic Bunning, who both get £23.10.

By virtue of Dominic finishing second and getting 9 points, and Phil Ruby finishing tied 9th, and John Henry being absent, Dominic jumps into the lead by 3.06 points!

Top Ten Order of Merit
1 Dominic Bunning 62.66
2 Philip Ruby 59.6
3 John Henry 57.78
4 Andrew Macleod 44
5 Barry Campbell 37.1
6 Nick Smyth 36.1
7 Andrew House 33.41
8 Colin Rose 32.25
9 Mike Lower 31.83
10 Luke Kirby 30.83

There are only two more weeks to count for the order of merit, and the prize will be awarded to the winner on week 21 (The Players Championship!)
On the 3rd September all members are permitted to play, however only those who have qualified are entitled to play for the trophy on the day.
Next week’s format is a “Modified Reduced Club Stableford”
What this means is you may take a maximum of 5 clubs (including your putter).
You receive more strokes for taking fewer clubs

• 5 clubs – normal allowance
• 4 Clubs – four extra shot
• 3 clubs – six extra shots
• 2 clubs – ten extra shots
• 1 club – twelve extra shots

This means if you play of a handicap of 8, and choose to use only 2 clubs, then your handicap will change to 18.

Full explanation will be given next week, but it is an opportunity to get a high score for those who believe in their ability to be creative!!!

Kind regards,

David Boyce
General Manager
